SYNOPSIS
Ouri has always been drawn to death in ways most people aren't. When his older brother Keisei begins acting secretive, sneaking out at night and returning covered in blood, Ouri's curiosity pulls him into a hidden war. The target of Keisei's obsession is Makina, a girl bound to life as a Shikabane Hime: a corpse animated by rage and contract, forced to hunt down the undead monsters responsible for slaughtering her family. She's beautiful and terrifying in equal measure, and her connection to Keisei runs deeper than Ouri ever suspected. As Ouri edges closer to the truth, he discovers the Kougon Cult operates in shadows everywhere, managing a balance between the living world and something far darker. Makina's hunt for revenge becomes personal when Ouri realizes the threats surrounding her will inevitably threaten everyone he loves. Caught between a ghost girl seeking vengeance and forces he doesn't fully understand, Ouri must decide how far he'll go into the darkness to protect what remains of his family.
