Joe Shimamura, a world-class sprinter, is badly hurt in a car crash, and strange men load him into a fake ambulance. They take him to the headquarters of Black Ghost, an organization that stirs up human conflict to profit from war. There the kind Professor Gilmore saves his life by rebuilding him as Cyborg 009, the ninth in a line of cyborg warriors meant to serve the organization. The cyborgs refuse to become instruments of destruction, so they rise up and break free, hoping to live in peace. Black Ghost will not give up its planned superweapons without a fight, and its evil robot forces come after them. This 1966 film tells 009's origin as an action-packed science fiction adventure.
