Jun'ichi Asakura is in his final year at Kazami Academy, surrounded by close friends both old and new. The island of Hatsune-Jima still carries the weight of a lost miracle: two years ago its cherry trees stopped blooming year-round and now flower only in spring, like any others. Everything shifts when a mysterious girl named Aisia turns up at Jun'ichi's door on a stormy summer day. She has come to learn magic from a grandmother who has since died, hoping to make everyone happy. Through a misjudgment on his part, she decides Jun'ichi can teach her instead. His only magic turns out to be making Japanese sweets, yet Aisia keeps searching for magic on the island. Meanwhile his non-blood-related sister Nemu comes home after two years at nursing college to train in the academy infirmary, and is startled to find Aisia living with him. Later, Sakura Yoshino returns as well. The series mixes comedy, drama, romance and supernatural elements, while the question of who Aisia is and how she ties to the island's once ever-blooming cherry trees hangs over it all.
