SYNOPSIS
Damesuke Amano is a completely powerless man trapped between two worlds. At the office, coworkers treat him like furniture. At home, things are infinitely worse. His wife Onibaba rules the household with an iron fist and violent temper, his teenage daughter Yukiko toys with him for entertainment, and even his young son Takobo joins in the psychological warfare. Damesuke has no authority, no respect, no escape. Every day brings fresh humiliation from the people who should care about him most. What emerges is a darkly comedic portrait of a man systematically crushed by those around him. The humor cuts sharp because it exposes the gap between traditional Japanese ideals of fatherhood and the brutal reality of Damesuke's complete inversion of that role. He's not a provider or authority figure. He's a punching bag who happens to pay the bills. The comedy lands hardest in its refusal to soften his suffering or offer him dignity.
