Ani is a princess who absolutely refuses to play the role of a helpless heroine, and watching her bulldoze through every romantic setup the show throws at her is pure comedy relief. The reverse-harem setup exists only so the jokes can tear it apart, the princes fall for her, she treats them like a migraine, and somehow that's more fun than actual romance ever gets. It's a comfort watch that knows exactly what it is: a vehicle for running gags that land and a protagonist who makes you laugh because she's too busy being real to be interested in being desirable.

Ani is the only princess of Inako, a small country squeezed between two stronger neighbors: militaristic Milidonia, which wants to seize as much territory as it can, and Selenfalen, a theocracy devoted to the goddess Saint Philia. To ease tensions among the three nations, she goes to Selenfalen as Inako's envoy to a peace treaty signing, where her job is to help the ceremony go smoothly. Her plans fall apart once she meets the stubborn, eccentric princes of the rival countries. Hardworking, practical and strong-willed, Ani will need every one of those qualities to deal with them. Bound together by the treaty, she and the princes have to get past their differences and find enough common ground to build a friendship, in a comedy with adventure and romance woven through it.
