A boy buried his love of ballet under the weight of becoming a man after his father died. A girl sees what he's pretending he doesn't want and hands it back to him without asking permission. The show understands that sometimes grief doesn't mean you stop wanting beautiful things, it means you need someone to make it safe to want them again.

Junpei spent his childhood fascinated by ballet, but after his father's death he gave up dancing, believing he had to become a man. Now a second-year junior high student, he plays soccer, trains in Jeet Kune Do and hides his old passion from friends who might think it unmanly. Then Miyako, a transfer student, notices his love of ballet and invites him to dance at her mother's studio. Alongside her cousin Ruou, Junpei begins training as a serious ballet dancer. Classical ballet is lovely to watch and punishing to master, and it asks for everything. As a complete beginner aiming to become a danseur noble, a dancer qualified for the prince's role, Junpei has to commit fully and make sacrifices, even if it costs him some friendships.
