Lü Shu trips over his own feet while discovering superpowers, and somehow that's more entertaining than most shows that spend entire arcs on training montages. The opening theme alone justifies clicking play, but the real hook is watching a kid who has no idea what he's doing fumble through a world suddenly full of metahumans with actual confidence. Comedy that lands this consistently in a cultivation story is rare enough that it stops mattering when the power system never quite makes sense.

Lü Shu is an orphaned high school student who is physically frail but stubborn. He studies at a prestigious school, works to support himself and cares for his adoptive sister, Lü Xiaoyu. A car accident awakens hidden cultivation powers in him just as the world enters a new age of magic, and it also cures his weakness. Because so little is known about cultivators and their future is uncertain, he keeps his abilities secret. That grows harder when Tian Luo Di Wang, the international foundation that watches over cultivators, sets up a special training group at his school and makes him join. Lü Shu still hides the true source of his strength: he draws power from the negative emotions his actions stir up in other people. Along the way he faces supernatural events, a long line of rivals and some of the most powerful figures in his country, while he aims to lead the new era. The show is a fantasy action ONA that runs for 12 episodes.
