The game swallows the world whole, and suddenly a sixth-grader has to decide if the girl across from him, the cute one from class, is still human enough to save. SYNOPSIS
Yuuma and his twin sister Sawa are deep into Actual Magic, a cutting-edge virtual reality MMO, when the game's boundaries collapse. The digital world bleeds into reality, and suddenly the monsters they were fighting exist in the streets around them. Death becomes immediate and permanent. When Yuuma encounters his former classmate Sumika, he barely recognizes her: she's transformed into one of the game's grotesque creatures, caught between human consciousness and monstrous form. Now players and non-players alike scramble to survive in a world where the rules of both reality and gaming apply simultaneously. There's no logout option, no respawn, no escape. Yuuma must figure out how to protect those he cares about while uncovering why the fusion happened in the first place. The line between player and pawn blurs as he navigates a landscape where every decision carries weight and every encounter could be his last. Survival means adapting to this new reality or dying in it.
