The show abandons all pretense of plot and just lets its characters be dumb and lovable in alien settings for 90 minutes. You get the sense that everyone involved knew this was a victory lap, a chance to mess around with the cast without worrying about serialization or stakes. It's the anime equivalent of hanging out with friends who make you laugh without trying, then sending them home on a spaceship.

Dejiko decides to take a vacation and head back to her home, Planet Di Gi Charat. Puchiko and Gema travel with her, and Rabi~en~Rose ends up along for the trip by accident. Piyoko and her aides are not about to pass up the opening, and they set out to capture Dejiko while she is away. The result is a comedy film built around the trip home.
