A lost kid and a dumb cheerful girl stumble into a mystery that doesn't need solving, only understanding. A mysterious substance called sand star turns the animals of Japari Park, a vast integrated zoo, into humanoid beings known as Friends. One afternoon on the savannah, the energetic Serval meets a strange new Friend named Kaban, who has no idea what kind of animal she is. The two team up and set out across the park's habitats and attractions, heading for the library in hopes of learning who Kaban really is. Along the way they meet many other Friends and lend them a hand, but their trip gradually brings a sinister reality about the park and their own existence to light. The show mixes lighthearted comedy and fantasy with a slowly building mystery across twelve episodes.
