After a lion chairman opens the event, a monkey pledges on everyone's behalf to show true sportsbeastship. From there the contests unfold as slapstick: pole vaulting, discus, hurdles, javelin and a 1500-meter race full of mishaps, with an elephant proving a powerful thrower.
