Ryuusui barges into the story like he owns it, and the special actually earns that swagger by making him useful immediately instead of wasting time on introduction theater. The science clicks back into focus where it belongs, and watching a stubborn aristocrat learn why Senku's methods work becomes genuinely charming. It's the show remembering that the best part of Dr. Stone is people solving impossible problems with their brains, not just watching the world get saved.

Set after the second season, this Dr. STONE special puts Ryuusui Nanami at the center. Senkuu wants to cross to the far side of the Earth to trace the green light that turned humanity to stone, and that means building a ship. With help from Tsukasa's former followers, the hull comes together quickly, but the crew still lacks a capable captain. Their search leads them to the petrified Ryuusui, heir to the largest maritime conglomerate, who knows sailing vessels inside out but has a difficult personality. Senkuu revives him anyway. Ryuusui is thrilled to learn that nobody owns anything in this new world and plans to claim it all. Before he will steer the ship, though, he and Senkuu have to find oil to fuel it. The special mixes action, adventure, comedy and science fiction.
