THE BEYOND arrives after a decade of fragmentation. Fafner Exodus left the war scattered, some Festum want coexistence, some want annihilation, humanity is split down the middle on which outcome it even deserves. THE BEYOND is what happens when you stop waiting for the enemy to choose a side and realize you have to choose yours, knowing there's no correct answer anymore. The pilots who survived twice already aren't fighting to win. They're fighting to decide what they're willing to become in a world where the old rules don't work. That's a different kind of exhaustion than any mecha show bothers to show.

Fafner THE BEYOND is a 2019 film release in three episodes and a new entry in the Fafner franchise, blending drama, science fiction and mecha action. It arrives after Fafner: Heaven and Earth and Fafner Exodus, which depicted the young pilots of Tatsumiya Island fighting the Festums, silicon-based beings from outer space.
