SYNOPSIS
Humanity drifts through the void aboard colossal generation ships, refugees from a cataclysm that obliterated the solar system a thousand years ago. The Gauna, shapeshifting alien entities that defy all understanding, hunt these survivors relentlessly. On the Sidonia, one of the last bastions of human civilization, a young man named Nagate emerges from years of isolation deep within the ship's depths. Recruited into the pilot corps, he discovers he has an unusual talent for controlling the Gardes, massive mecha weapons designed to repel the Gauna threat. Nagate finds himself behind the controls of the Tsugumori, a legendary unit thought lost to time. As he joins fellow pilots in desperate skirmishes against their incomprehensible enemy, he grapples with the weight of humanity's survival. The Gauna grow stronger and more cunning with each encounter, forcing Nagate and his comrades to push their machines and themselves to breaking points. In the cold darkness between stars, every battle could be the last. Every pilot understands they may not return alive.
