Chrono is a fourteen-year-old member of the Rewinders, the nickname for a special forces unit of the Space-Time Police whose job is to save people who have already died untimely, tragic deaths. Their tool is the Retry Eye, a time machine implanted in the right eye. Using what he learns of the future, Chrono travels back again and again, sometimes dozens, hundreds or thousands of times, until he reaches a future where the victim lives. The result is a sci-fi action mystery with a dramatic edge.
