This one drops you in mid-mythology and refuses to slow down for you. Yonosuke Hikura is doing the high school routine on the surface while carrying the job of holding Heaven and Earth in balance, and the OVA treats that inheritance as a fact of life rather than a twist to unwrap. Chitentai does the heavy lifting, Tsukinojo Inbe handles the parts a teenager with a sword cannot, and the demons crawling up from the Earth World exist to get sent back. It is plot first, all the way down: the cast are moving parts in a machine built to keep the barrier shut, and the pacing never pretends otherwise. One episode, 1993, no epilogue, no cushion. Yonosuke Hikura lives a double life.
