A single photograph becomes a symbol of peace in a civil war. In the mountainous Asian nation of Uddiyana, frontline photojournalist Saeko Shirasu captures civilians raising a makeshift U.N. flag, and the image rallies the fighting factions toward a ceasefire. Just before a peace agreement can be reached, an extremist group steals the flag to derail the truce. The U.N. covertly sends in a Special Development Command unit armed with the HAVWC, a transforming bipedal armored vehicle, to get it back. Because she took the famous picture, Saeko is offered a place alongside the unit, recording its mission through her camera. Along the way she comes to learn the truth behind the conflict. The show mixes mecha action and adventure with war drama.
