Recca finally gets the ending he earned. This OVA burns through the manga's final volume with animation that matches the emotional weight of what's actually happening, not the TV series' compromise version. If you read the tankoubon, you already know what this moment means. If you only watched the anime, you've been missing the real conclusion the whole time.

Flame of Recca: Final Burning is a single-episode special that serves as a conclusion to Flame of Recca, but only for the manga and game continuity, since the anime adaptation reached its own separate ending. The short episode adapts events from the thirty-third and last collected volume of the manga and reveals why the series carries the title Flame of Recca. It was offered as a bonus clip, unlocked by finishing the PS2 game of the same name. Genre labels place it in action, adventure and sci-fi.
