A kid nobody wants becomes obsessed with being acknowledged, and that obsession is so sincere it rewires everyone around him. The early arcs nail something most shonen miss: real stakes in small moments, a ninja system that actually means something, and fights where strategy matters more than who screams louder. It loses the plot hard in the back half, drowning in filler and power creep that makes the first 135 episodes feel like a different show entirely.

Naruto Uzumaki grows up an outcast in the Hidden Leaf Village. Twelve years ago, a colossal nine-tailed fox demon attacked the village, and the Fourth Hokage gave his life to seal the creature inside a newborn baby: Naruto. He joins Team 7 alongside the gifted Sasuke Uchiha and the sharp Sakura Haruno, led by the detached Kakashi Hatake. As the squad takes on tough missions, Naruto competes with Sasuke and tries to win Sakura's heart, while danger and the painful histories of all three threaten to pull the team apart. The series mixes action, adventure, comedy and drama in a supernatural ninja world.
