This is a show that stops pretending cooking is about food and admits it's about proving yourself to people who matter. Soma's been climbing toward something real the whole time, and by the final season, every dish is a conversation with someone he needed to reach. The show knows it's ending, so it stops wasting time on tournaments and starts collecting debts.

Soma has climbed to the top of Totsuki's elite hierarchy, finally claiming the first seat on the Ten Masters Council that he always wanted. With the academy restored to order after the rebels ousted Azami Nakiri and the old Elite Ten, a new challenge arrives: an invitation to BLUE, a renowned tournament where young chefs compete for world-class fame. This year the format has changed and the themes are far from ordinary. Soma and his friends face fresh trials and rivals, including Asahi Saiba, leader of the underground chef organization Noir, who once beat Soma and his father in a shokugeki. This fifth and final season mixes comedy, drama and ecchi.
