The school becomes a prison the moment Azami takes over. Soma doesn't fight back with some hidden technique or bloodline power, he fights back by cooking the way he always has, which turns out to be the most dangerous thing in a place built to crush individuality. Every match stops being about winning a shokugeki and starts being about whether you're allowed to have a voice at all.

Tootsuki Culinary Academy falls under the control of Azami Nakiri, who takes over as director after the Elite Ten's coup. Students face expulsion for daring to cook with creativity, forced instead to conform to his idea of "true gourmet food." Souma Yukihira refuses to surrender. Alongside the residents of Polar Star Dormitory and other rebellious first-years, including the Elite Ten's Erina Nakiri, he mobilizes against Azami's regime. Corrupt instructors and the powerful Central organization block their path with scheme after scheme meant to drive them out of the school. Souma and his allies must work together harder than ever to survive each plot. This second half of the third season mixes comedy and ecchi with its story of culinary rebellion.
