Beryl thought he'd solved the problem of ambition by abandoning it entirely. Season two is about discovering that peace was never his to keep. His students have won everything he once wanted, and now they need him to want something too, not for glory, but because the world won't stop burning long enough for a quiet life to matter.

The second season of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman returns to Beryl Gardinant, a self-described humble old man who once ran a sword dojo in a remote village. In the earlier season, a famous former pupil told him he had been made special instructor to the knights of the Liberion Order, and he went to the capital. There he met former students who had become elite knights, a top wizard and an adventurer of the highest guild rank, all eager for his teaching. The 12-episode TV season is billed as action, adventure, comedy and fantasy.
