The premise sounds like a gimmick until you realize the town's legend is real, and every twin pair has a legitimate claim on the protagonist's attention. The romance doesn't feel like collecting figurines. Each girl exists independently. The show commits to the bit: a shrine worker stumbling into a town-wide supernatural love conspiracy, then actually trying to navigate it instead of playing dumb. Yes, the twin gimmick gets crowded. Yes, it borrows from better romance shows. But the central rotation works because Nozomu never stops being confused, and the girls never stop being distinct. With his mother gone and his father working overseas, Futami Nozomu moves back to the town where he spent his early childhood. He starts school there and takes a part-time job at a local shrine. Before long he is drawn into a town legend about twin sisters who fall in love with the same man, and the town turns out to have a surprising number of twin girls. The romantic comedy builds its lighthearted premise around that legend and the many twins Nozomu meets.
