Archaeologist Dr. Daino and his son Taiga travel the world studying the remains of the ancient past. In South America, they investigate ruins found by treasure hunters and discover a stone statue of a giant bird more than 50 meters long, apparently made over 20,000 years ago. To their shock, the statue awakens and flies off before their eyes. They learn the creature is called Oobats, and that it seeks an artifact known as the Ooparts Egg. Once it has the egg, Oobats becomes a weapon capable of destroying the entire universe, and Taiga must keep that from happening. Who built the statue, and why, remains a mystery in this science fiction adventure drama.
