Rareko is back to lobbing absurd propositions at her classroom like philosophical grenades, and the five-minute format still makes each one detonate harder than it should. Gakkatsu! returns with a second run of short comedy episodes, 25 in total. The first season took place in a fictional school where Rareko, nicknamed the "Tender Tank," keeps starting debates that are absurd yet oddly passionate, and they keep her classroom lively. She and her classmates trade sharp arguments over enormous subjects, and now and then a thoughtful point slips out amid the back and forth. The first six episodes of this second season were shown early in January, ahead of the regular TV broadcast that began in April 2013.
