A war lasting centuries pits two advanced civilizations against each other: the Paranoids, an alien humanoid race, and the Solenoids, a people made up entirely of women. While the Solenoid fleet moves to protect an experimentally terraformed planet, the damaged ship Star Leaf is cut off from the others. Seven women survive aboard, including Captain Eluza, Rabby, the brash pilot Lufy and the enigmatic science officer Catty. After a narrow escape they keep to their orders and head for the planet Chaos to defend it. Their ship, however, turns out to be part of a Paranoid experiment. The result is a mecha science fiction adventure full of space combat.
