Ryuko's transformation sequences are so visually insane that the actual plot doesn't matter, and the show knows it doesn't matter. Every episode is designed to hit you with three perfect moments back-to-back before cutting to the next scene that's going to hit just as hard. SYNOPSIS
Ryuuko Matoi arrives at Honnouji Academy carrying half a pair of scissors and a burning need for answers. Her father is dead, and the only clue to his killer is embedded in that blade. The school itself is a labyrinth of power, where the ruthless student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin rules through an iron fist and a wardrobe of sentient uniforms that transform their wearers into superhuman fighters. These "Goku Uniforms" are currency, status, and weapon all at once, worn only by those deemed worthy of Satsuki's favor. Desperate to climb the social ladder and find her father's murderer, Ryuuko stumbles into an unlikely ally: Senketsu, a sentient sailor uniform that bonds with her through battle. Together they fight their way up Honnouji's brutal rankings, toppling the Elite Four and cutting through anyone who stands in their path. But the deeper Ryuuko digs into the academy's secrets, the more dangerous her questions become. Every answer only spawns wilder mysteries about who controls Honnouji and why.
