Marine is the son of Dr. Mariner, an oceanographer who works with the Ocean Patrol. The boy has been genetically altered so that he swims far better than anyone underwater, and he gets his air there by chewing a special Oxygum. Together with Whitey, a white dolphin, he helps his father keep the sea safe. The 13-episode 1960s TV action adventure grew out of the earlier Dolphin Ouji trial episodes. It renames the characters, adds new ones and expands the original concepts, and some new animation and small story changes set it apart from the first version.
