The black sphere doesn't care if you're ready. It pulls you back into meat-grinder combat with designs so alien they feel wrong to look at, and every time you think you understand the rules, Gantz rewrites them in blood. This is the show that kills characters you've learned to care about and doesn't slow down to let you process it.
Kei Kurono and Masaru Kato have already survived two rounds of Gantz's deadly games. The mysterious black sphere keeps summoning people who have just died and sends them out to battle alien invaders, and it can call them back at any moment. Kei Kishimoto, a fellow veteran, is now living at Kurono's home as his 'adopted pet', and he finds it hard to hold back his attraction to her. The three have slipped back into something like ordinary life, but new activity from Gantz drags them into the fight again. The only rumored way to leave for good is to collect 100 points, yet with the aliens pressing in and death always close, staying alive has to come first. Whether the courage Kato shows in these battles can carry over into the real world is another open question. Mixing action, horror and psychological drama with ecchi elements, the season centers on one mystery: what exactly is Gantz?
