Six months after the battle with Kugel's fleet, the fleet freed from the rule of the machine caliber Striker prepares to merge with Gargantia, bringing new people aboard. Ledo works with the salvage team while collecting information about the old civilization. He wants to learn why humanity left Earth and what caused the conflict between humans and the Hideous, and his interest in archaeology and human history keeps growing. Meanwhile, Amy trains Leema, her new messenger recruit. Leema belonged to Kugel's original fleet and has started a new life on Gargantia since that fleet was broken up.
