The capital divides itself by geography and fortune. North of the barrier lies safety, where the palace rests under a spiritual shield raised by the onmyouji, the court sorcerers. A small band of warriors stands against these creatures in the dark. Among them is Raikou, the Golden Knight, who wears legendary armor and vows to protect everyone. His attendant Kintoki and the enigmatic Makai Alchemist Seimei fight beside him. Raikou is unprepared for the armor's side effects, though, and his failings push him onto a journey to overcome his weaknesses and prove his worth. The result is a supernatural action fantasy set in a feudal capital.
