Leon's doubt is the entire point here. He's spent four years fighting darkness, winning every time, and now he doesn't believe in himself anymore, not because he's lost, but because he knows what winning actually costs. The action sequences earn their weight because they're not about spectacle; they're about a man trying to remember why he picked up a sword in the first place. This movie only works if you've already walked the first Garo with him, but if you have, you'll recognize yourself in his hesitation.
Four years after the events of the earlier TV series, Leon Lewis carries the title of Golden Knight Garo. He now spends his days training a young Makai Knight of the coming generation alongside Prince Alfonso of the Valiante Kingdom. The pair are ordered to destroy a Horror said to be the most beautiful in the world, which dwells in the neighboring land of Vazelia. At the same time, their young trainee is abducted by an unknown figure. Leon gives chase but ends up trapped and surrounded by foes, until Dario, a Makai Knight believed missing, arrives to save him. Following Dario's lead, Leon reaches a town where someone he never expected is waiting. The film is a supernatural fantasy with plenty of action.
