Hikaru is a clown until the ball is at his feet. The moment shifts. What you're watching is a show that understands the difference between the person you are and the player you become, and it doesn't pretend they're the same thing. He dances after goals because he earned the right to be happy about it. Every match is a test of whether joy and seriousness can live in the same body, and Goal Field Hunter believes they can. A 1994 sports anime that refuses to make its protagonist choose between being himself and being great.

Hikaru Tatsumura comes from Brazil with one goal: to become a great soccer player. The dream began when he once met a star player admired by everyone, and he wants to be just like him. Most of the time Hikaru is cheerful and easygoing, but when soccer is involved he turns serious and strong. He also has a playful streak on the field, celebrating his goals with a funny dance alongside his buddy. With his team, he faces many challenges as they aim for success in this sports series.
