A guy doesn't know he's alien, so he chases his ex across the city with the pure stupidity of a farm kid who thinks fame will fix heartbreak. He stumbles into Battle-ball, a sport that doesn't exist anywhere else, and discovers he can throw a ball harder than physics allows. The show treats this setup like it's completely normal: a broken-hearted idiot becomes a superhero by accident, and his team has to figure out what he is before he figures it out himself.

Ikkiman is a superhuman alien who has no idea what he is, having grown up on a farm under the care of an elderly couple. When his girlfriend leaves him to pursue stardom, he vows to become an even bigger star than she is so the two can reunite, and he sets off for the city. There he breaks into a game played by the Blue Planets, Earth's champion Battle-ball team, and decides to join them using the extraordinary powers he has just found. His strength is hard for him to control and has caused trouble before, but on the field it becomes his edge. Alongside the Blue Planets, he faces alien opponents in matches that decide the championship and the fate of Earth. The show blends comedy, science fiction and sports.
