A slow-witted boy from the countryside has a single dream: to reach Koshien, the high school baseball championships. Told in 156 short episodes of about ten minutes each, which aired Monday through Saturday, this 1970 sports story follows his push toward the tournament, pairing baseball action with the ambitions of a determined, not especially clever hero.
