Rio's journey from real-world builder to Metaverse competitor collapses three episodes into what should have been a full season, but the animation leap alone justifies the watch for anyone who lived through Build Fighters. Every cameo lands because you've already spent years with these characters, and the nostalgia hits harder when paired with genuinely distinct OSTs for each legacy storyline. This exists to celebrate a decade of Gunpla obsession, not to tell a complete story, so measure it by that standard instead.

Made for the tenth anniversary of the Gundam Build franchise, this three-episode mecha ONA is set around a new online service for Gunpla fans. Inside its Metaverse, users take control of avatars, meet other players, fight in Gunpla Battle and even buy physical kits. Rio Hojo is a boy who has jumped into this world. He learns model-building techniques from Seria Urutsuki in real life and picks up battle tactics from Mask Lady online, sharpening his abilities every day. Once he finishes his own original model, the Lah Gundam, Rio runs into several former Gunpla Battle champions in the Metaverse.
