A popular horror novelist leaves Tokyo with his wife and their twin daughters for a remote countryside hotel, a building that once served as a set for his favorite horror film. Troubling reports come over the car radio as they travel. A few weeks after settling in, the family begins to sense an unknown presence in the hotel and decides to look into it, only to find something that may or may not be as frightening as they first believed.
