Dave, a character who also appears in the .hack//Sekai no Mukou ni film, leads this one-episode special. Its story is set across two years: 2024, when the movie takes place, and 2025, the year of the game .hack//Versus. The special ties the events of the game to those of the film and promises to reveal a final truth. It was packaged with the free game on the film's Blu-ray release, and it mixes action with science fiction.
