The joy here is watching teams you've grown to love fight for the same prize, knowing only some will make it. Haikyu builds these rivalries so well that even a two-episode sidequest lands with real weight. You're not watching volleyball, you're watching the end of someone's dream, told with enough humor and heart that it stings.

Karasuno High School's volleyball team wins the Miyagi Prefecture qualifiers for the Spring Tournament, earning a trip to nationals after a hard-fought victory over Shiratorizawa Academy. Meanwhile in Tokyo, four teams are locked in a fight for just three spots at the national tournament. Nekoma High School must get past Fukurodani, Nohebi Academy and Itachiyama Academy, all eager for a place at nationals. Despite trouble on the court, Nekoma is determined to prove it belongs on the national stage. Each team has to overcome both its opponents and its own weaknesses. Will Nekoma earn its spot, and could a national rematch of the Battle of the Garbage Dump with Karasuno be on the horizon? The Tokyo qualifiers play out across these two sports drama episodes.
