Nice and Murasaki crack jokes while investigating serial murders, then the show casually reveals it's been building a conspiracy the entire time. The animation pops in ways that make even throwaway comedy scenes feel alive. You come in for the flashy superpower fights and detective banter; you stay because the final twist recontextualizes what you thought was filler into actual plot.
Nice and Murasaki are a detective duo in Yokohama who run the agency Hamatora from a single table at Cafe Nowhere, waiting there with their coworkers for clients. Both are minimum holders, one of the few people born with a special power called a minimum. When their new jobs start to connect to a serial killer that their friend Art, a police officer, is chasing, they learn that every victim is a minimum holder like them. At first unwilling, the pair are drawn into the investigation, and questions emerge about how Nice is linked to the person behind the killings. Hamatora mixes comedy and drama with its central mystery.
