In a future winter where space travel is routine, a once-thriving film studio sits on the edge of bankruptcy, its vast backlot of landmark replicas buried in snow. Zha, a lonely janitor, looks after the grounds with only a former film-star cat for company. Short of money, the owner hands him a VR headset as part of his pay, and Zha is quickly drawn into a virtual romance with a female player who invites him to travel to the moon. Meanwhile, a film crew briefly revives the studio to shoot an alien invasion movie, with the real demolition of the site planned as its final showdown.
