Hifana takes everything tactile about a Japanese festival and rebuilds it in pure percussion, old wooden temple bells colliding with breakbeats that refuse to settle. By the time it ends, you realize you just watched a 60-second argument between tradition and tomorrow, and both sides won.

Hanabeam is the lead track and music video from Hifana's 2010 album 24H, built around the sound of exploding fireworks. The two members of Hifana appear as fireworks craftsmen who bring a gloomy city back to life, one beat at a time. Their journey ends at a magical temple, where they set off one last great firework and the video bursts into a vivid, energetic finale. The piece recasts the sights and sounds of a Japanese summer festival through the duo's hybrid breakbeat style, blending old traditions with a modern edge.
