In the year 3990, the immortal Oldna Poseidal rules Pentagona, a war-torn system of five planets. Daba Myroad, a survivor of the Yaman Clan, lives on the remote planet Koam with his friend Mirao Kyao. His father left him the L-Gaim, a white humanoid mecha called a Heavy Metal and the last relic of his people. While on the run from thieves who want the machine, the pair team up with Fanneria Amu, a would-be actress, and Lilith Fau, the last fairy in Pentagona. Daba vows to honor a dying thief's final request, and that promise sends him toward the powerful merchant Amandara Kamandara. Along the way the group gathers more allies, meets strong enemies and is drawn into a rebellion against Poseidal. The series is a 54-episode mecha adventure and science fiction drama.
