This is a show built on pure physical comedy with no safety net, no punchlines that need translation, just two bodies in space doing absurd things to each other. The 3D animation looks cheap and plastic, which somehow makes the slapstick land harder, there's no pretension between you and the gag. If you speak Japanese you'll catch the comedian's timing and ad-libs; if you don't, you're watching silent-film logic that doesn't care. Seven episodes means it never overstays the bit. It's The Three Stooges in digital form, made by someone who understands that the funniest thing two people can do is commit completely to being ridiculous together.

Hokuro Kyodai Full Throttle is a comedy ONA of seven 3D-animated episodes, released in 2007. It centers on Hokuro Kyodai, a character who appeared in the movie Nice no Mori (Funky Forest), and gives the character a short animated comedy run of their own. Katsuhito Ishii directs.
