Peeping Life TV looks at the absurd everyday moments of modern Japanese life. Its comedy shorts belong to the datsuryoku-kei, or ennui-style, school of humor, a relaxed slow-life approach that lingers on the small, listless details of ordinary days. The cast is drawn from the heroes of Tezuka Production and Tatsunoko Production, updated for a modern television appearance and shown going about their daily routines. Each short pairs improvised performances, recorded through motion capture, with computer animation, turning the pitfalls of Japanese society into low-key slice-of-life comedy.
