Greed Island lets you watch Gon and Killua actually get stronger in real time, and it feels earned in a way most power progression arcs don't. The game world strips away the cosmic dread of the Spider arc and replaces it with something cleaner: puzzles to solve, cards to hunt, friendships that stick because they're chosen, not forced by circumstance. You're not here for animation spectacle or narrative revelation. You're here because watching two kids genuinely figure out how to survive, improve, and help each other is enough.

After the battle with the Spiders, Gon and Killua are still searching for Ging, and they set out again to buy the rare game Greed Island. Gon then comes up with a better idea: he offers to complete the game for the billionaire who owns it. First, though, the two need training. Their abilities are still developing, and Greed Island is no ordinary game. It has a reputation for getting its players killed. The OVA runs eight episodes of action, adventure and fantasy, and it is based on the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi.
