A broke guy renting out rooms stumbles into a supernatural bureaucracy nobody asked for, and somehow that's the premise that actually works. The show's real gift is watching Ren Hao stay fundamentally himself, confused and practical, while increasingly impossible creatures move into his house and his life. It builds momentum by treating supernatural chaos like a job with paperwork, and by the time you realize how much you care about keeping this household together, you're already gone.

Ren Hao is 23, has neither a job nor a girlfriend, and decides to rent out a room in his house to get by. While he is giving his first tenant, Lili, a tour, a vampire named Vivian suddenly attacks her, and Ren Hao realizes Lili is a werewolf. Once the two are living under one roof, an organization that keeps order among parallel universes scouts Ren Hao, and one odd creature after another moves in as a tenant. The result is a supernatural comedy built around an increasingly unusual household.
