Three episodes, and it never once pretends to be about anything. A dancing old man shows up in a dream, a preteen gets handed a goddess transformation and a bone-scrap costume, and Ongo, the little creature who is very obviously up to something, rides shotgun while the show animates all of it far harder than the premise deserves. That's the actual draw: Yuji Moriyama's cels move like there was real money and no supervision in the room, the drums and the opening theme lodge in your skull for a decade, and the gags land if you're the person they were aimed at in 1997. Nami and her unexplained powers are the closest thing to a plot thread, and it goes nowhere. You'll either bail in ten minutes or still be humming the OST years later.

After meeting a dancing old man in what she takes to be nothing more than a strange dream, a preteen schoolgirl is drawn into a string of magical girl adventures. Alongside her are Ongo, a small creature who may or may not be evil, and Nami, a shy girl with mysterious powers. The three-episode OVA from 1997 mixes action, adventure and comedy with plenty of ecchi fan service, turning the magical girl formula into a playful romp.
