Zorori treats a pop star origin story like a heist, except the only thing being stolen is a hippopotamus's confidence. The show knows that watching three scheming animals convince someone they're worth believing in is funnier than any joke about failure could ever be. By the end, you're not rooting for a hit song, you're rooting for Hippopo to stop doubting herself, and somehow that matters more than it has any right to.

Zorori, Ishishi and Noshishi take up a new line of work as agents and producers for Hippopo, a singer with real promise who is also dealing with trouble of her own. The trio sets out to help her climb toward stardom. The feature film is adapted from the sixty-sixth book in the Kaiketsu Zorori series and mixes adventure, comedy and fantasy.
