Shin-chan meets a high school superhero and immediately starts interrogating him about his crotch. The collision between Fourze's earnest magical-boy heroism and Shin-chan's filthy five-year-old energy creates comedy that doesn't need either show to compromise. It's a crossover that works because it's funny enough to stand on its own, not just a promotional stunt.

Kamen Rider Fourze X Crayon Shin-chan is a set of four short crossover episodes that aired in the regular time slots of both Kamen Rider Fourze and Crayon Shin-chan during April 2012. Each series hosted two of the episodes. Shin-chan's younger sister has been carried off to Planet Himawari to be made its princess, so Shin-chan joins forces with Kamen Rider Fourze to travel into space and bring her back. The first and fourth episodes combine animation with live-action footage, while the second and third are fully animated. The special mixes action with comedy and was made to promote new theatrical releases from both franchises, including the Super Hero Taisen crossover film and Shin-chan's space princess movie.
